Clock Project
Project 2 Analog Clock
Step 1: Find an image of an analog clock to work with. Suitable examples include a wristwatch, pocket watch, clock tower, grandfather clock, or desk clock. Note: Do not use a digital clock or a plain, circular wall clock.
Ensure the clock face in your chosen image is perfectly aligned and facing straight toward the camera. This straight-on perspective is essential for using the revolve and align tools properly when setting up the face, and it allows you to easily use basic shapes to create the clock's various components.
Step 2: Begin creating the face of the clock. This video will teach you how to use the rotation tool to perfectly space the hour marks, minute marks, and numbers. You will also learn how to use the revolve tool to achieve the same result. Exploring both of these methods will help you determine which workflow best fits your project.
Step 3: Continue expanding outward from the clock face to fully develop the rest of your analog clock's body. Be sure to incorporate gradients, shadows, and highlights to effectively create the illusion of depth and realism in your design.
