Clipping Masks

Clipping masks provide a way for multiple images to interact with each other. We will use them to create a printed sticker.

Clipping masks allow you to link two layers together. For instance, you can create a shape or text and then link a photo to fit within the parameters of that shape or text. You can also use a clipping mask to make selective adjustments to a single layer of your document.

Assignment 1: Create a unique design using an image of yourself and an initial from your name. Begin by creating a document that is 1080px x 1080px in RGB mode. From there you will use clipping masks, layer masks & layer effects to create the desired effect. Adobe Color is a great tool to help you find a color pallet that works well together.

Assignment 2: Create an interesting themed collage. Start with either a logo or word that represents the subject to house the design. Then add at least 5 additional images to the logo or word while using clipping masks to hide unwanted parts. When complete add layer effects to enhance the overall design. These will be printed out as stickers when completed.
