LED Light
Create a design for a unique LED light display.
Step 1: Sketching
Develop two possible designs for the LED light project. Be sure to draw the outer cutlines in red and the engraved design in black. The bottom portion of the light must remain the same.
Considerations:
Spotify play codes are scannable on the led.
Step 2: Digital File Example
Using the file provided transfer your hand drawn file to a digital format. This file will be used to laser engrave the LED light.
Document Setup:
When designing be sure that both your color mode and color selector are set to RGB. Laser engraving uses light to cut so RGB mode is important for the process to work.
Engraving:
When designing parts to engrave be sure to use
Pure Black (0 Red, 0 Green, 0 Blue) for shapes. Need to be on the shape layer and expanded. Does not need to be shape built.
Cutting:
100% Red is used for cutting (255 Red, 0 Green, 0 Blue). If you would like to change the shape of the LED light you can alter the red lines along the outside and top (the bottom lines must remain the same). Be sure that your design is smaller than the original square or alignment issues might occur.
Step 3: LED Light Development
Throughout the process remember to take photos to document your progress on the LED light. The photos will be used in the PowerPoint as part of the final grade.
