Portrait

Create a portrait of any person you choose, using either a realistic color palette or getting creative with your own color combinations. The main goal of this project is to train your eye to recognize the shadows (dark areas) and highlights (light areas) in your reference image. Accurately recreating these light and dark values is the key to making a flat, two-dimensional drawing look like it has depth and form. By successfully illustrating the interplay of light and shadow, you'll bring your portrait to life and master a fundamental artistic technique.
