Trapping

Design a multi color logo using appropriate trapping techniques.

Practice creating appropriately trapped logos for a multi color design.

Step 1: Video

Recreate the logo using the least amount of anchors as possible. If layers are similar you can use copy and paste to be sure objects are properly lined up. Each color should have only one layer that the work is on. When complete expand any strokes so everything is a filled shape.


Step 2: Video

We don't want ink to be stacked on the shirt as it will create thick spots on the fabric so we are going to apply trapping. Work from the bottom two layers up by copying the design, cutting it from the layer below it, then pasting it in place on the appropriate layer.


Once are aligned perfectly add a 2 point stroke the layer/s that will create a slight overlap "trapping".


Expand the stroke and use the pathfinder to unite the shape together.


Step 3: Video Pantone Color Books

Change each layers color to an appropriate pantone for printing.


On a new layer create two registration marks that are registration black.
