Vinyl Sticker

Step 1: Sketching

Develop sketches for different ideas for the vinyl sticker. When completing the sketches be sure to consider where you will place it and what size it needs to be. Be sure to sketch with color and line thickness.

Step 2: Volkswagen (Optional if you need extra help)

Complete the above file by fixing it to gain a better understanding of how to correctly format a design for the vinyl cutter. At the end of the period I will check the file for understanding.

Step 3: Vinyl Sticker Development & Examples

Develop and format a few of your sketches in Illustrator to be cut out on the vinyl cutter. Throughout the process remember to take photos to document your progress. The photos will be used in the PowerPoint as part of the final grade.

1. Appropriately size the document

2. 1 Color per layer (Name layers)

3. Draw with stroke or fill, not both

4. Linework/detail matters (thin linework will not necessarily cut out nicely)

5. Expand all stroke and text.

6. Shape build all intersecting lines (Per layer)
